Finding Calm Through Gardening: How Growing Lotuses and Roses Became a Source of Balance
Gardening has always been something I enjoyed, but this year it became a meaningful part of my routine and personal well-being. Among the different plants I care for, growing lotuses and roses has been especially rewarding. Each bloom — whether it’s the bright pink lotus opening in the morning sun, the soft yellow petals unfolding quietly, or the rose that I gently nurtured — has brought a sense of calm and fulfilment.
Caring for these plants has taught me the value of patience. Lotus blooms, in particular, take time. Some mornings I would see a tightly closed bud, and on others, a full flower waiting to greet the day. Roses, on the other hand, require closer attention — noticing when they need pruning, sunlight, or extra care.
There were days when the leaves didn’t look their best or the buds took longer than expected to open, but nature always found its rhythm. Watching each flower grow reminded me that progress is not always immediate; it takes consistency, care, and trust in the process.
Gardening has become more than a hobby — it is a quiet space where I slow down, reflect, and reconnect with myself. It helps me appreciate small details, develop patience, and create moments of peace in a busy routine. This practice continues to remind me that growth — both in plants and in life — happens steadily and beautifully when nurtured with intention.
